# Connect Nodus to a coding agent

Nodus runs one MCP server with generic tools over every resource (get, describe, logs, estimate,
apply, exec and more). Writes return a dry run first and run only once confirmed. The agent uses the
person's account, projects and spending limits.

Steps for an agent helping a person connect:

1. Reuse an existing `nodus` MCP server if one is configured and works; do not add a second one.
2. Add the hosted server for the client (below). The person completes the browser sign-in.
3. Verify with a read-only request such as "List my Nodus jobs." Do not start paid compute to test the connection.

## Hosted server (browser sign-in)

Server URL: `https://api-next.nodus-compute.ai/mcp` (streamable HTTP with OAuth). JSON configuration: https://nodus-platform-site.pages.dev/mcp-hosted.json

### Claude Code

```sh
claude mcp add --scope user --transport http nodus https://api-next.nodus-compute.ai/mcp
```

Then run `/mcp`, choose nodus and authenticate.

### Codex

```sh
codex mcp add nodus --url https://api-next.nodus-compute.ai/mcp
codex mcp login nodus
```

### Cursor

Open cursor://anysphere.cursor-deeplink/mcp/install?name=nodus&config=eyJ1cmwiOiJodHRwczovL2FwaS1uZXh0Lm5vZHVzLWNvbXB1dGUuYWkvbWNwIn0%3D, or merge this into `~/.cursor/mcp.json`:

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "nodus": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://api-next.nodus-compute.ai/mcp"
    }
  }
}
```

### Other clients

Add a remote HTTP MCP server with the URL `https://api-next.nodus-compute.ai/mcp` and follow the sign-in prompt.

## Local server (stdio)

Install the CLI, sign in, and let it configure the agents on this machine:

```sh
curl -fsSL https://nodus-platform-site.pages.dev/install | sh
nodus login
nodus mcp install
```

On Windows install with `irm https://nodus-platform-site.pages.dev/install.ps1 | iex`. Local configuration: https://nodus-platform-site.pages.dev/mcp.json

### Claude Code

Run this in your terminal. Nodus will be available across your projects.

```
claude mcp add --scope user --transport stdio nodus -- nodus mcp
```

### Codex

Run this in your terminal, then start a new Codex session.

```
codex mcp add nodus -- nodus mcp
```

### Cursor

Open Cursor to review and add the Nodus tools.

```
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "nodus": {
      "command": "nodus",
      "args": [
        "mcp"
      ]
    }
  }
}
```

### VS Code

Merge this into .vscode/mcp.json, then enable Nodus in your chat tools.

```
{
  "servers": {
    "nodus": {
      "type": "stdio",
      "command": "nodus",
      "args": [
        "mcp"
      ]
    }
  }
}
```

### Gemini CLI

Merge this into your Gemini settings, then restart Gemini CLI.

```
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "nodus": {
      "command": "nodus",
      "args": [
        "mcp"
      ]
    }
  }
}
```

### OpenCode

Merge this into opencode.json in your project, then restart OpenCode.

```
{
  "mcp": {
    "nodus": {
      "type": "local",
      "command": [
        "nodus",
        "mcp"
      ],
      "enabled": true
    }
  }
}
```

### Other agents

Add a local stdio server in your agent’s MCP settings. Use this configuration when your client accepts mcpServers.

```
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "nodus": {
      "command": "nodus",
      "args": [
        "mcp"
      ]
    }
  }
}
```
